Part 6 The next day arrives and I find my familiars in the living room.Part 6 by ~sashabff
“We’re going out for the day, you should be safe here. We’ve already told people who may show up that we won’t be home” the other grabs the car keys and the make their way towards the car.
“Have a good day, we’ll see you later”.
I’m home alone for the first time since my change. ‘I need to lay low’ I decide. I nap throughout the warm, sunny day. I hear several animals pass though the yard, mostly squirrels and birds, But the occasional neighbor cat also. It’s amusing on this boring day.
I decide to lay in my room. Before too long the warm air has a slight nip to it, and it feels wonderful. The chill it gives me however, is far to deep just to be from a late summer’s night. I’m walking around the house making sure it’s secure. Something just doesn’t feel right
Part 5 All night I slept. Not even stirring. I wake up still on the kitchen floor. I’m covered in blankets. I realize they wither did not want to move me, or they just could not get me to wake up. I am groggy and wait until someone else wakes up. It won’t be long now, the sky is bright and the birds are chirping.Part 5 by ~sashabff

There’s a knock at the door.
“ACO. I’ve received a report you may have a wild animal in your home. I need to investigate”.
“No way.. You need to hide!” one of my familiars points to me. Dodging the front door they led me to the garage. We dug around for a secluded space. There
Part 4 ‘Crack’. I hear a twig break, a loud one. ‘ I hope that was just me’ I know very well it couldn’t have been. I’m not fully adjusted yet, but I can keep these legs still. My enhanced senses take over. Something is watching me I can feel it. It’s a larger animal for sure. It’s not getting closer, but it’s not going any further away either.Part 4 by ~sashabff
The bright daylight is starting to fade. I’m noticing shadows getting longer. I knew more animals would be out soon. I realize: if I can wait out until close to nightfall, I should be able to use these shadows to my advantage. So I wait, diligently. I keep an eye to the house, hoping company would leave. I keep an eye on the consistently darkening sky, waiting for my chance. Also as I wait I’m keeping an ear to the woods. That animal is still out there.
Finally my chance has come. A path of shadows leads to the house, I can take cover in them. I
